Are we there yet ?

Here is the text of my address which I gave at the Stantonbury Partnership service on Advent Sunday 2020. The service was livecast from St Andrew’s church and meant for the whole Partnership and our friends everywhere to join in.

Our church is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of the children and people of all ages in our church community. The Safeguarding Policy can be seen here. Further information and contact details are on our Safeguarding page

Stantonbury Drama Run

On Tuesday 5 January, the Church Council reviewed keeping St James closed for public worship in the light of the Government placing the country back into lockdown. We bore in mind that the number of cases in Milton Keynes was rising significantly higher than the England average, and was still rising.

Although the number of cases has now fallen significantly, they are still above the national average. Also, the whole country is still in lockdown and Diocese recommendation is that churches should not be open at this time.

The Worship Group meeting on Saturday 13 th March regretfully agreed that indoor worship should not resume at this time and are looking to re-open for Pentecost (May 23 rd ) depending on Church Council agreement.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during what has been and continues to be a difficult time.

We are an inclusive, open minded community

We endeavour to grow in faith through worship, prayer and study.

We live out our faith with an awareness of the local and global community, seeking justice and peace for all.

We are partners with other Churches in the Stantonbury area and enjoy worship in the Anglican, Methodist, Baptist and United Reformed Church traditions

Wise Words
