Please Help with Soup and Sandwiches for the Homeless

What is it?

It is preparing soup and sandwiches for the homeless in Milton Keynes. Food preparation takes place in the kitchen area of Christ Church, Stantonbury.

Soup Run Rota

The Stantonbury Soup Run takes place each Monday and Tuesday evening, rain, hail, snow or sunshine, every week of the year. Our clients needs do not recognise Public or Bank Holiday, so we don't either !

We are fortunate that we have a regular core of helpers each week with others volunteering as convenient, but we will always gratefully welcome anybody that wants to get involved, no matter how infrequently.

Approximate times are:

  • 6.30pm for food preparation at Christ Church, Stantonbury.
  • 7.15pm set out on run.
  • 20 minute stop at each distribution point.
  • Back to base at approximately 8.45pm to wash up thermos flasks etc. and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before returning home at about 9.30pm.

Where are the distribution points?

  • The Station
  • The Theatre
  • The Library

How often would I be involved?

With sufficient numbers your turn might come round as little as once a month but you can offer to do more

I cannot help physically. How else can I help?

Financial help of £2 a month would be a vital and very welcomed help, to keep the project up and running.
