The Holy Water goes everywhere!

Palm Sunday at St James is really special. We really do begin in party mood especially when it comes to the blessing of the palm crosses – one of my favourite moments in the church’s year, as you can see from this picture!

Once the Palm Sunday Procession arrived back at church the children had a real treat visiting the fellow animal friends of Teddy the Shetland pony. In church we were plunged into the pain of the Passion of Christ. It is not an easy service but it reminds us that Jesus is in the pain as well as the joy of life. It would be all too easy to go to a happy Palm Sunday service one week and on to Easter Day the next week without every considering the death of Jesus. Remember, there can be no resurrection without the pain of death!

After the worship I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of the beautiful church yard, be-decked with spring flowers – thank you to all those who care for this peaceful haven.  Chris
