Walk on the wild-side for MK strays

Fri Jul 22nd, 2016, 6:30PM

We are setting up two charity walks in aid of MK Stray Dogs to raise funds and awareness of the stray dogs in Milton Keynes and the need to chip, neuter and vaccinate dogs in order to keep them safe from harm. There will be a 5Km walk and a 2.5Km walk or if you are really brave do them both leaving from Bradville Hall. The walks will take place in the evening to reflect the many walks strays will take trying to find somewhere safe to call home, these walks can be particularly apparent at night, and is also when dogs are most vulnerable in Milton Keynes to being knocked down by cars on the roads. People will have the option to choose which walk they wish to take, or even complete both. Tea and cake or other light refreshments available between the two walks. People would need to gain sponsorship in order to take part. Sponsorship forms will be completed and put online in the next few weeks, as well as guidance for the walk, although people will be expected to take full responsibility for their own dogs, should they choose to bring them along with them. If you wish to dress-up in suitable attire or not so suitable attire, you are welcome to do so, but I will be wearing my walking boots! Anyone wanting a sponsorship form please contact either Sara Munro or Myself.
